Church Leadership
Pastor Kevin Griffin is a life-long resident of Stewartsville, Missouri where he professed his faith in Christ at the age of 12 in 1974 at the First Baptist Church of Stewartsville. He was ordained as a deacon in 1996 and served for many years at First Baptist as the music director, business moderator, Sunday school teacher, and on the deacon board.
Upon retiring from 31 years in public education as an instrumental music teacher and Coordinator of Fine Arts for the St Joseph School District, Kevin answered the call by God to become a minister of faith. He became an ordained minister at First Baptist Church of Stewartsville. Pastor Kevin attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies with an emphasis on preaching. He pastored at New Home Baptist Church for five and a half years and in 2022, he was called to become the full-time pastor at First Baptist Church of Stewartsville.

He believes in God the Father, who sovereignly created and rules over all things, Jesus the Son, who came to offer eternal life to those who would repent, believe, and faithfully obey Him, and the Holy Spirit, who is actively working in the lives of believers. He believes the Bible to be the infallible and inspired Word of God, sufficient for all the Church’s needs, including primarily it's growth in holiness to the Lord. He also is in complete agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Pastor Kevin has been married to Tanya (Farr) Griffin since 1982. They have three children – Rebecca (Griffin) Buhman, Brad Griffin, and Tyler Griffin. He has also been blessed with 9 grandchildren.
